Who Offers Audiobook Services?

January 18th, 2012

There are various Audiobook Services on the internet which will allow you to either purchase or rent audiobooks, such as Audible.com, Simply Audiobooks, and AudioBookWorm. Some of them require that you download specific programmes on which to listen to their audiobooks and other offer audiobooks which can be listened to on a variety of players including on your computer, laptop, Blackberry, Kindle, Android and Apple smartphones or iPad. These companies offer one-off sales, rental and subscription services. The amounts that are charged for services differ from company to company and depend on the service. Subscription services usually work out cheaper per title, but the downside is that you are tied in to a service for a year and also have a commitment to order a certain amount of books per month. Most companies do offer trial periods at various times, whereby you can order one book for free. Trial periods are a good way to find out whether you will enjoy audiobooks or not.

Problems on Dealing with These Guitar Chords for Beginners

January 17th, 2012

I have been struggling with my guitar lessons for the past weeks now. It seems to me that these guitar chords for beginners aren’t doing me any good. I just don’t know, but it feels like I haven’t had made any progress. I find it rather too difficult to form those chords like C Major and G Major, let alone transition from one chord to another. It really seems impossible.

I know that learning to play the guitar is my greatest dream, but now that I’m facing all these challenges, I don’t know what to think anymore. I don’t want to give up, but I just don’t know how long I’m going to last because it is starting to get on my nerves. I feel like I’m no longer happy with I’m doing and it seems as though that I’m losing interest by the minute. I don’t want to give up. I just can’t.

Free Mp3 Downloads Got Josh in Trouble

December 18th, 2011

Josh almost landed in hot water due to free mp3 downloads.

Back in 2000, when peer-to-peer networks were beginning to appear all over the internet, Josh started downloading his music for free on the internet. He knew that it was wrong, but he went ahead with it anyway. In the space of 6 months he managed to amass close to 5,000 songs ! I only had about 300, and they were all obtained legally.

This continued until one day in 2002 when he received a letter from the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA). He could guess the contents of the letter but he opted not to open it nevertheless.

Two weeks passed, with Josh continuing to download his free mp3’s, until the RIAA sent yet another letter. This time the envelope was red. He had no option but to open it. When he finished reading it he was left agape. They were suing him for $350,000 !

Coordinating Various Online Violin Lessons

December 14th, 2011

The coordination of all existing online violin lessons might not come easy to those who are not used to consolidated versions. To many students, online violin lessons should be given individually, while some students believe that the consolidated version might just be the one that they need. The former believe that individual attention is crucial for the progress of the students. Some students however believe that there is no effective way to consolidate all the courses. There might be some strategies that could be tried but they firmly believe that there is not one which resembles a perfect solution. The dream of every composer is to have his work published at some point in his or her life. However, this endeavor is not quite easy. It comes with many ups and downs. There is no easy way to learn how to play the violin and fortunately enough, many students are aware of that.

When I Was a Kid

November 25th, 2011

When I was a kid, the only form of piano taught was classical piano. Even though I would love for my children to have some piano lessons, I’m not sure they will enjoy nor appreciate it as much as I did back in the day. They don’t listen to what we did as children and their musical tastes are very different to ours at their age. We played scales and did music theory and practiced for hours a day just to get one classical piece right. The kids want to learn their favorite music pieces and skip all the scales and technical stuff that we learned as children. They simply aren’t that interested. It’s not a bad thing, I just think it reflects on the differences between our generations and the musical tastes that go with it. My eldest is interested in Blues and my youngest in Justin Bieber. Does anyone have the sheet music for that?

Singing Better is in Your Future!

November 4th, 2011

I have been singing for the better part of my life, and it is one of the greatest things I ever learned how to do. It is a great creative outlet that gives you the joy of being able to both sing and perform for others. If you really want to learn how to sing, the best route to go is to take singing lessons. But I know many people can’t afford to take private lessons, which is why I would recommend taking a good online singing lesson program. With a good online singing program you can learn how to sing in a systematic way for a fraction of the price of what it would cost to take private lessons. And because you get all of the lessons upfront you can tailor the program to your own style in your own pace. And because you get to keep the lessons you can take them as many times as you need to.

Tenor and Baritone Ukulele

October 30th, 2011

Tenor ukuleles are noticed to be the largest still with the length of 26 inches. Professionals such as, Jake shimabukuro tend to prefer tenor ukulele as their fast choice. Because of it great size which allows plenty of figures a room for ukulele pyrotechnics. Also they have a benefit because they are louder than concert and soprano ukuleles. Many musicians prefer tenor ukulele when they are performing in front of small group of people, because they produces clear sound. Baritone ukulele is much larger than tenor ukulele with the length of 30 inches and is tuned differently. Its four top string are tuned the same of guitar rather than being a ukulele tune. This makes it to sound more like a guitar than Ukulele. Many musicians don’t refer it as baritone ukulele but as tenor guitars. It is an excellent choice for the beginners who want to move forward on to playing guitar.

Start Playing the Classical Guitar and Connect to a Vast Musical History

October 18th, 2011

Start playing the classical guitar and feel what it is like to connect with a musical history that spans from five centuries ago right up to the present times. If you already play the guitar you will be surprised how different and fulfilling it can be to master this most delicate instrument in the guitar family. Playing acoustically on nylon strings create a warmth and tone that you won’t find on other guitars, let alone other instruments. But to learn it, you must dedicate some quality time and have some patience – it isn’t as straight forward to make music as is the case on traditional guitars. But once you get the basic technique right and can read the music, there is no stopping you from learning ever more demanding and beautiful pieces at your own leisure and speed. If you are interested in finding out more about this beautiful instrument, visit Guitar Lessons Cork.

Techno Songs by Israel

September 2nd, 2011

I’m very curious to note that a lot of the great techno songs that have come out in recent years were created by new artists in Israel. I’ve always wondered what kind of music they contribute to the world. I remember watching a singer from Israel who had a very high falsetto voice, but he was more in between the rock and pop genre. There does seem to be a strong techno music movement in Israel. It just so happens that a lot of these young artists also use a lot of different names, so there’s no popular celebrity name that has stuck in the media. But who knows, maybe someone with a Biblical name will suddenly turn up. I think that it’s great that they’ve chosen, consciously or unconsciously, to make techno music their business. I think that they have a better chance at leaving their mark here than in rock for example.

Color Your Beats with Love

August 28th, 2011

If you are not in the music production business for love then why are you wasting your time? Your beats should be colored with love, meaning you should be pouring your blood, sweat and tears into them. The final output must be laced with your passion and love or people will not want to buy it and listen to it. Think of some of the best beats in history and you can feel the love emitting from the core of those sounds. Putting together some beats is not that hard, but laying down your soul on a track is an entirely different thing.

If you are using an online beat maker then you should start thinking about going with something more substantial. However, your passion should always be firmly in place regardless of what tools you are using. No one can teach passion, or talent, so you have to dig deep for both. Hungry music lovers are waiting for the next big thing, and you could deliver it to them.

A Lesser Known Compact Synth You Should Know About

June 18th, 2011

I came across the Akai MINIAK in my hunt for the best synth, and I can definitely say I was impressed. Coming in with 37 keys, this obviously won’t be the first choice for many classic pianists, but if you want an awesome synth which can create some sweet sounds then this is right up your alley. With it’s built in drum machine and vocoder you can be rest assured that you are definitely getting your money’s worth with this bad boy. With a price at around $400, you can put it into the same category as the more popular Korg Microkorg. For my money I think that the Akai MINIAK blows the Microkorg out of the water in every aspect including build quality. The Korg model seems a little more like a toy than a serious synthesizer. At least with the MINIAK you feel that you are getting a real instrument and not a child’s toy.

Recognised Piece of Instrumental Music from Another Movie

February 1st, 2011

Last night I stayed in with my girlfriend with a take away and a movie instead of going out for my usual Friday night antics with my friends because tomorrow I have got a big football match and did not want to turn up with a hangover just like I do every other Saturday. The movie we watched was great and was a new supernatural thriller that had just recently come out, we had wanted to see it at the cinema but were away on holiday for most of the time that it was on. There was a piece of instrumental music in it that I recognised from another movie and I just could not put my finger on which movie it was from and it is really starting to get on my nerves that I don’t remember. Obviously this is one of those very insignificant things but those are the ones that really grate on me when I can’t remember them.

How Video Games Are Tainting Guitar Playing

December 9th, 2010

This is a bit of a rant. As someone who took the time to find the best guitar lesson dvd for beginners, watch the lessons, spend the time practicing and now learn some songs I know that these new video games for guitar and other instruments on the video game consoles are tainting real life guitar playing. I’m not actually suggesting that everyone things it’s as easy as pushing some buttons to learn guitar but even when playing these games on a challenging level it’s no where close to being as challenging as the real thing. Few beginner or intermediate guitarists could play any of the songs on these games and it would take years of practice not hours of game play to master the chords, scales and rhythms. If you’re looking for a serious challenge why not give the real guitar a try. You can get a pretty inexpensive beginner instrument and some lessons on the cheap. You just need to add in the time to learn.
